Our Executive Team

Frank P. Slattery, Jr., Founder & Chairman

Frank Slattery has successfully nurtured good business ideas for more than 25 years. Adaptiv Learning Systems is the most recent of the more than 120 companies or subsidiaries he has started and built. Specifically -- since retiring as president and CEO of a major lease and finance company, Slattery has developed a keen idea for technology-based concepts developed in the University setting. Several of his companies have been technology transfer start-ups based on research and development originated at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned his law degree and where Adaptiv Training was developed.

Slattery was struck by Adaptiv's ability to serve widespread needs in corporations for skills to make employees and managers more resilient and in healthcare organizations to inoculate against depression. He became more convinced of the program's marketability when he learned of the benefits it offers to sports teams, educational institutions, the military and consumers.

Frank Slattery serves as a member of the board of trustees of The Franklin Institute. He is a member of LORE Associates, an investment group, and a director and investor in Tague Securities, Inc., a Philadelphia Stock Exchange market maker. He is a trustee of Mainline Health and Jefferson Health Systems and serves as chairman of the Finance Committee for Jefferson Health Systems. Dean M. Becker, President & CEO
Dean Becker is a business executive with an MBA and a degree in psychology. He managed companies in the human resources and healthcare arenas prior to assuming leadership of Adaptiv Learning Systems.

He began his career with IBM's mainframe computer division. His top sales performance quickly led to his being named to IBM's Executive Resource Program, a select internal group of high-potential employees earmarked for management advancement. During the PC revolution in the computer industry, Becker shifted his career into search and recruitment for the data processing industry. After joining Source Services Corporation in its Source EDP division, he soon became the company's youngest managing director nationwide.

Becker's experience in both technology and human resources management led to an opportunity to join with several physicians who were creating a new kind of service company for physicians that required his specific combination of skills. His natural entrepreneurial management style led him to accept. He joined Adaptiv after negotiating the sale of this company.

A proven leader, Dean Becker has embraced this latest challenge -- taking Adaptiv Training, a program that he believes has a major contribution to make to people's lives, out of the academic setting and into a diverse group of markets.
